Business Development & Marketing Specialist

Status:                  Full-time: Non Exempt

The Business Development & Marketing Specialist is responsible for proactively implementing all assigned firm specific marketing communications initiatives and to pursue and nurture relationships with new leads as well as relevant organizations.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Leads and performs ongoing business development policies and procedures including but not limited to:
    • Develops and nurtures relationships with prospective clients as well as relevant trade associations on both the state and national level
    • Researching organizations and associations to identify new leads and potential new markets
    • Leads firm-wide business development policies and procedures
    • Become a subject matter expert on our business products, processes and operations, and remain up-to-date on industry news
  • Assist in the planning, developing and implementation of the strategic marketing initiatives for the firm. Assigned areas include but are not limited to:
    • Branding
    • Website updates/maintenance
    • Marketing research
    • Recruitment
    • Online marketing
    • Social media
    • Advertising campaigns
    • Research of relevant business issues
    • Assist in conducting strategic analyses
  • Strategize, propose and implement solutions and initiatives which will achieve identified marketing objectives and goals
  • Coordinate internal graphic design and collateral needs
  • Assists with the development of all firm marketing materials (i.e., web site, proposals, sell sheets, social media, direct marketing efforts, presentations, public relations, etc.)
  • Coordinate all marketing specific vendor relationships
  • Ensures firm brand remains consistent across all promotional materials
  • Review and proactively recommend marketing and promotional opportunities in all service areas and markets
  • Assists with the strategic plan development for the firm
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, including business publications, newspapers and broadcast news outlets as appropriate
  • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to management team on a regular basis
  • Plan and coordinate marketing specific various events (i.e., firm-wide meeting, seminars, networking events, community promotions, speaking presentations, exhibits, etc.)
  • Ability to travel 25% per year
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience obtained in a long term post acute care setting
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
  • Technical skills in strategic planning and marketing, business and market development, market research and planning and promotions/advertising
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills
  • Ability to think ahead and plan over a 1-2 year time span
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Must possess at minimum the following technical skills:
    • Microsoft Office Suite
    • Social Media expertise
